Karina Tulupova: from a childhood dream to reality

The hero of our article is Karina Tulupova, a sought-after young architect and interior designer in an ecological style. Karina creates office interiors in the spirit of conscious consumption, where the main principle of her work is "the less, the more." Not surprisingly, her projects' main favorites and principles are the ideas of Scandinavian and Japanese styles, minimalism, and functionalism.

Karina Tulupova was born in 1996. Since childhood, her mother's fine artistic taste instilled in Karina a love of beauty. Her mother drew beautifully and dreamed of becoming an architect, but fate had it differently, and this dream was realized in her daughter's talent.

The family always instilled a cult of creativity, and the children drew many organized exhibitions of their art and other talents. In addition, they studied the expositions of museums and were interested in the history and theory of art. It is pretty natural that creative children grow up in such an atmosphere. Thus, Karina's brother Arthur decided to connect his life with music, and Karina showed a passion for architecture.

Interestingly, at age 5, Karina Tulupova - the future interior designer - was fascinated by beautiful buildings and structures. She often said: "When I grow up, I also want to create such beauty and build such houses." The art of Italy and Spain especially touched the child's creative heart. She was amazed by the scale and details of buildings - from the elegance of decorative elements and perfect accuracy of proportions and harmony to elegant orders, pilasters, capitals, and the unusual beauty of painted friezes.

Florence and Barcelona are the cities that made an imprint in the formation of a fine design taste for the future interior designer. Internationally recognized classics and modern urbanism are now a bright line in the interior solutions of Karina Tulupova.

Creative grains that were planted in a favorable environment gave their fruits. To this was added purposefulness, which led to the recognized success of Karina in the direction of interior design.

The direction of future education was confidently predetermined, so after school, Karina entered the College of Architecture and Construction, where she received the basics of knowledge in design. After receiving primary professional education in 2016, the future interior designer continued her studies at the Moscow Institute of Architecture in the scientific and educational program of Bachelor of Architecture.

Today, Karina Tulupova is an interior designer whose projects have been highly appreciated at international competitions.

Thus, in 2018, Karina participated in the international competition of young designers, "Design Perspective". Her project became the winner in the category "Best Studio Apartment Design Project" by Mr. Doors.

In 2019, Karina's design project was awarded the International Award of Textile Designers and decorators of CIS countries in the nomination "Realized projects of Textile Design of Living Space in the style: Modern Interior". Another victory was achieved in 2020 when Karina's work was recognized as the best in the same International Award, but already in the nomination "Realized projects of textile design of commercial objects." The expert jury especially appreciated her ecological solutions in the design of office spaces.

Karina Tulupova's expertise and experience are growing incredibly, so in 2021, she was invited to become a jury member in the International Competition for Young Designers "Design Perspective."

Today, Karina focuses on sustainable interior design. For her, her life's work turns into meaning and awareness. Therefore, in 2020, Karina joined the Guild of Designers and Architects of Russia to make the topic of eco-design more relevant and in demand in the Russian architectural market. She holds seminars and lectures for colleagues from the market with a focus on environmentally sustainable approaches and global best practices in this direction.

In the same year, she was invited to organize seminars on eco-themes at her native Moscow Architectural Institute. As a result, Karina conducted 120 hours of lectures and practical lessons on the topic of ecological approaches to the design of residential and commercial premises.

Karina Tulupova receives the status of Honored Member of the Guild for such active work on developing ecologically sustainable design in Russia.
